Al-Shabaab's Criminal Activities in the Horn of Africa with Katharine Petrich, Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey

Dr. Katharine Petrich is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Northeastern University and specializes in studying the threat posed by nonstate violent actors, namely criminal and terrorist organizations. Regionally, her research focuses on Africa and Latin America, where she conducted fieldwork in support of her PhD dissertation. Beyond her academic work, Petrich has previously worked both inside and outside of government, and regularly consults on security and development issues for government, think tank, and nonprofit clients.
